Transport Services
Free transport will be provided for participants, officials and workforce members to travel between accommodation and sporting venues during the 2011 Arafura Games.
2011 Arafura Games Accreditation Passes must be worn at all times to access the free transport services detailed below.
Bus travel
Two allocated Arafura Games shuttle buses, the Red Line and the Blue Line, will run during Games week for participants, officials and workforce members.
The public can also use the Blue Line to travel between the Casuarina Bus Interchange and the Marrara Sporting Complex.
The Darwinbus Network will also provide free transport for participants, officials and workforce members during the month of May 2011, by showing the driver a 2011 Arafura Games Accreditation Pass.
Arafura Red Line: Darwin City - Parap - Marrara and return
The Red Line will run during Games Week from 07:00 until 22:15.
Between the following peak hours, a Red Line shuttle bus will depart every fifteen minutes:
07:00 — 10:00
20:00 — 22:15
Between the following hours, a Red Line shuttle bus will depart every thirty minutes:
10:00 — 20:00
Arafura Blue Line: Casuarina Bus Interchange - Marrara and return
The Blue Line shuttle bus will run every day of the Games and will depart every thirty minutes from 06:30 until 22:15 from both the Casuarina Bus Interchange and the Marrara Sporting Complex. This service will utilise coaster size buses.
The Darwinbus Network
The following Darwinbus Network services will stop at Arafura Games venues during the week of the Games.
Route 3: Return route from Casuarina to Casuarina via Alawa, Jingili, Marrara, Moil and Anula, with a detour through Marrara Sporting Complex Route 5: Casuarina to Darwin via Moil, Marrara, Berrimah and Winnellie, with a detour through Marrara Sporting Complex
Route 14: Darwin to Darwin via Cullen Bay and Darwin Waterfront including the Convention Centre
Other 2011 Arafura Games Transport Booking Services
Arafura Games Fleet
The 2011 Arafura Games Fleet is a separate transport booking service for participants, officials and workforce members who are unable to use the Arafura Red Line, Arafura Blue Line, or Darwinbus Network due to the timing or location of their accommodation or sporting venue. This service will utilise coaster size and smaller commuter buses.
VIP Fleet
The VIP Fleet will use luxury cars, operate as a taxi service, and is only available for use by VIPs. VIPs can make a booking at the Arafura Secretariat desk at the Mantra on the Esplanade.
Athletes with Disabilities Fleet
This service will operate as a priority booking system and will utilise wheelchair specific vehicles and other 2011 Arafura Games transport services where appropriate.
Airport Transfers
All participants will have access to free transport services to and from the Darwin International Airport and their accommodation. All Arafura Games Transport Services will be used for airport transfers.

VIP bookings can be made at the Arafura Secretariat desk at the Mantra on the Esplanade.
