In 2009, Boxers from as far away as Ireland competed in the Games, winning 4 Gold and 1 Bronze
All boxers are required to have soft soled shoes, which minimizes the damage from accidental or intentional stepping on feet
Amateur boxers are required to have headgear and a sleeveless shirt in the color of their corner
Competitors wear protective headgear and gloves with a white strip across the knuckle. A punch is considered a scoring punch only when the boxers connect with the white portion of the gloves

Boxing Program

Bouts will be conducted from Monday 9 May with Finals taking place on Friday 13 May 2011.

The tournament draw will be finalised on completion of the first weigh in. Boxers will be required to attend weigh-in on each competition day. Weigh-in will be held at the competition venue.
